La’akea
I wear many hats here on the Island of Kaua’i…Some, I chose…Some of them chose me. Either way, I love what I do! Life is a dance for me and I’m very passionate about dance and life! I really should have a bumper sticker that says, “I’d Rather Be Dancing!” People would ask me what my work is and I would start going down my list…then stop and say, “Well, what needs to be done? If I can’t help you, I’ll refer you to someone who can!” After many years of service, I’ve grown to own the privilege and pleasure of being a Minister, Midwife, Cultural Practitioner, & Performing Artist.
Rev. Amorosa DeGracia
On Kauai we also have the Rev. Amorosa DeGracia. She will also assist you with the creation of your ceremony by sending you samples to work with to edit as you please. She is a joy to work with! We also arrange simple ceremonies with Unity CHurch Ministers. Our goal is to embrace you and to always give you the ceremony you envision!
Kahu Ryan
Kahu is an active minister in his church and President of the Hawaiian Civic Club amongst many other accomplishments. He is a master Hawaiian chanter minister of Hawaiian blessings, rituals and wedding ceremonies. He is often called off island for many blessings. He is also dedicated to passing on the Hawaiian culture to all who seek to learn.
When time permits, the Kahu Ryan will do a couple’s counseling and a Hawaiian tradition called Ho’oponopono: To make things right and pono or good between the two you before your ceremony. He will be happy to speak to you over the phone so you can get an idea of what he is like and explain to you more on Ho’oponopono. There is an added fee for this service.
